Cassette outer frame concept for reduced installation time
The rear double door concept is an enhancement of the manual door in that it uses all of the same core features but adapted to a double door arrangement. The rear double door design also utilises the cassette concept in that the two leaves are mounted to a cassette outer frame at the PLP factory, creating the major benefit of significantly reduced installation time on the vehicle. The rear double doors are also supplied with the robust PLP locking mechanism thus ensuring longevity of life. Each door also has the option of a hold back facility purpose mounted to retain the door leaves in the fully open position, ensuring there are no obstructions to gaining access to the vehicle through the door aperture. PLP’s experienced team of engineers work closely with the vehicle builder throughout the design phase of a new project to ensure that the correct glazing position is achieved on each door leaf so that the vehicle lights/indicators remain visible even when the doors are in the open position (visible through the glazing).
