The drivers signalling window is available as either a traditional channel glazed configuration or as a removable rail.

The choice of overall window design is vast with some of the choices outlined opposite, showing square and radius cornered, 3 panel, 4 panel etc. Please contact the PLP Engineering department for clarification if you are unsure as to whether your requirement is achievable.

The removable rail design offers a higher performance of slide and easier repair capability compared to traditional channel glazed windows in that the sliding glass is encapsulated in an aluminium slider rail along the bottom edge. In turn the slider rail contains nylon blocks that create theeasy slide motion. Furthermore the tension on the nylon blocks can be adjusted thus giving longevity of life through very simple maintenance.

Moreover should the sliding glasses require replacement then they can be removed from the outer frame without demounting the whole of the window from the vehicle aperture. This is performed by removing a few strategically placed screws from the removable rail thus allowing it and the glass assemblies to come free.

There is also a choice of catches should a locking option be required plus varying fingerpull designs and positions to suit all needs.

For higher security environments the drivers signalling window is also available with 9.5mm thick laminated glass and is the perfect accompaniment to the driver’s assault protection door.

Furthermore PLP are able to offer a continental style sliding window that exhibits a cut-out within the glass thus giving the perception of a flush glazed bodyside.
