Within the vast range of windows manufactured by PLP there is a specialist demand for marine products including drop back vents.
Typically the top portion of the window assembly can be opened, single or double glazed; dropping back into the open position once the catch has been disengaged. Side baffles, or quadrants, located at both sides of the vent dictate the clear opening. Available with a mixture of square and radius corners the top rail of the outer frame can also be curved for aesthetical reasons, usually associated with Dutch Barge applications. Both single and double glazed requirements can be accommodated subject to the dimensions of the unit – please consult the PLP engineering department for specific detail. Single glazed horizontal sliding panes can also be incorporated into the overall window below the drop back vent if added ventilation is required. Fixation of the window can be via screws from the exterior either through a plain flange or they can be concealed through application of a screwcover. Alternatively PLP offer a clamp frame system that includes not only the window but an internal aluminium trim that caps the internal aperture. The PLP clamp frame system drastically reduces the installation time of windows due to there being no supplementary hole drilling required other than creation of the aperture.
